Yanming Chen Invited to Present Original Research at the 2026 IFSO World Congress

From September 1 to 4, the 29th World Congress of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) in Toronto, Canada. Yanming Chen, President of the Eighth Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (EAH-SYSU), was invited to attend the congress and deliver an original research presentation entitled “Bariatric Surgery Ameliorates MASLD by Upregulating Intestinal Epithelial Piezo1”.

During the congress, President Yanming Chen visited the University of Toronto and held in-depth discussions with Dr. Tianru Jin, Professor in the Department of Physiology, University of Toronto and Emeritus Scientist at the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute, UHN. President Yanming Chen presented her edited book Practical Therapeutics of Obesity to Professor Tianru Jin’s laboratory, fostering academic ties and building solid collegial friendship between researchers from China and abroad.
