First Prescription under the "Hong Kong and Macao Medicine and Equipment Connect" Policy Issued at EAH-SYSU

On October 16, the Eighth Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (EAH-SYSU) issued its first prescription for cat epithelium (domestic cat) allergen sublingual spray. This marks the first clinical use of four urgently needed medicines from Hong Kong and Macao introduced after the hospital was approved as a designated medical institution under the "Hong Kong and Macao Medicine and Equipment Connect" policy. The Department of Pharmacy has innovatively established a closed-loop management system combining pharmacy consultation clinics and inpatient pharmacist rounds to safeguard patients’ medication safety throughout the process.
